Pink Gallery is a moving image (video) made with motion effects of Adobe Premier and Avatarify based on three static
digital illustrations. The entire video shows the results of my research on influencer marketing through the way of expression lens narrative and character dialogue. The video describes a future world monopolized by the social media industry. Capitalists use influencer to control people's thoughts. As the carrier of the influencer marketing industry, social media runs through the entire video, demonstrating the business model resulting from the combination of modern technology and capitalism, and the huge influence on the thinking of contemporary young people driven by money and material benefits.
From my research, capitalists are gradually shaping the value of young people into a shape that conforms to their economic profits and building a social rule. With the assistance of influencers and social media, young people have become their major targets for transformation. This phenomenon has distorted people’s values. People are not pursuing spiritual progress, but are severely caught in the trap of fame and wealth, and cannot extricate themselves from it. In the video, the dialogue between people of different classes in the pink world reflects the distorted values of contemporary people, and related social problems and mental illnesses caused by this.
Based on my research and inspirations from classmate Ai, I used the theory that living beings are affected by the environment and other individuals in the concept of diffraction. In my work, different social classes are different ecological systems, and different individuals influence each other in the same environment, which also shapes different collective values. Social media has become an accelerator. It weakens the boundaries of thinking between individuals, improves people’s ability to influence the minds of others. This makes it easier for capitalists to shape the collective Pink World brand Logo consciousness they need.
